McIntyre and McIntyre Earn All-State Nods for MBB

Ventura's brother tandem of Adrian McIntyre and Anthony McIntyre have earned All-State honors as named by the California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association earlier this month. Adrian, a freshman, was the Western State Conference Most Outstanding Player and Anthony, a sophomore, also earned All-WSC honors in leading the Pirates to their best season record since 1995.

Men's Basketball Well-Represented on All-WSC Team

The VC men's basketball team was well-represented in the Western State Conference's post-season awards released last month. Freshman guard Adrian McIntyre was named the Most Outstanding Player and he was joined by Anthony Garza, Anthony McIntyre and Shulton Tobin as first team all-conference. Jelani Bell and Aaron Dawoodjee earned honorable mention All-WSC accolades and Pirate head coach Joey Ramirez was named the WSC Coach of the Year.

VC freshman Adrian McIntyre led four Pirates in double figures with 19 points, but Ventura's comeback bid fell short in their 77-74 season-ending loss to Citrus Thursday at the Athletic Event Center.
Furious Pirate Comeback Falls Just Short

The reality of March basketball is that just one team wins its final game. Unfortunately for the VC men's basketball team, their season ended Thursday as the No. 8-seeded Pirates' furious second half comeback against No. 9 Citrus fell just short in their 77-74 defeat against the Owls. Adrian McIntyre led four Pirates in double figures with 19 points while Anthony McIntyre had a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds while Anthony Garza contributed 14 points and 11 boards. Shulton Tobin added 17 points for Ventura (25-3).

VC sophomore guard Anthony McIntyre had 21 points with six assists to help lead the Pirates past Allan Hancock 72-59 to complete the 2021-22 regular season. Ventura won its 25th consecutive WSC North contest, finishing the year with a 25-2 record, its best regular season mark since the 1994-95 campaign.
Pirates Complete Regular Season With Win at Hancock

The Pirates' men's basketball team completed the 2021-22 regular season with a 72-59 victory at Allan Hancock College Friday in Santa Maria, finishing its second consecutive season with a perfect 12-0 Western State Conference North Division record. Anthony McIntyre scored 21 points with six assists while Shulton Tobin scored 16 points with seven rebounds. Adrian McIntyre netted 15 points with wight boards and five steals as VC won its 25th consecutive conference game dating back to the end of the 2018-19 season.

VC Basketball Claims Sixth Straight WSC Crown

VC basketball's We Play Hard intensity was on full display Monday as the Pirates defeated Hancock 86-70 to clinch their sixth consecutive Western State Conference North Division championship. For much of the game it was Arian McIntyre's world as hit torched the nets for 38 points with six rebounds and four steals. Anthony Garza totaled 17 points and a game-high nine boards while Anthony McIntyre scored 12 points for Ventura (25-2, 11-0), who claimed the 25th WSC title in program history.

VC sophomore Shulton Tobin scored 20 points, including the game-winning 3-point play with 32 seconds remaining, as the VC men's basketball team posted a difficult 87-83 victory over Oxnard Wednesday at the Athletic Event Center.
VC Survives Test Against Oxnard

The VC men's basketball team maintained their unblemished conference mark Wednesday with a difficult 87-83 victory over Oxnard at the Athletic Event Center. It was not the team's best outing of the season, and they were pushed by the Condors, but in the end, Shulton Tobin's 3-point play with 32 seconds remaining broke an 83-83 tie to send victory the Pirates' way.
