Another Strong Second Half Keeps Pirates Unbeaten in WSC
The Pirates' men's basketball team used another strong second half in their come-from-behind 97-91 victory at cross-county rival Moorpark College on Saturday afternoon. The win keeps VC (13-7, 4-0) unbeaten in Western State Conference North Division play. Donavan Williams led five Pirates in double figures with 28 points and Tone Patton netted 22, 18 coming in the final 20 minutes. Dayshone Henry netted 13 points in the game while Shulton Tobin and Timothy Turner each contributed 11 points.

Shulton Tobin scored 14 points on the day while Dayshone Henry and Timothy Turner each contributed 11 points.
The Pirates trailed the Raiders 46-39 at halftime before outscoring their hosts 59-45 over the final 20 minutes of play.
Dayveon Bates had nine points off the bench for VC and patton pulled in a team-high nine rebounds. Turner dropped nine dimes with his 11 points.
Ventura has a bye on the schedule before returning to the hardwood on Saturday Jan. 25. The Pirates will host Oxnard College at the Athletic Event Center at 7:00 pm following the VC women's game at 5pm.
