Pirates Drop Opener at Irvine Valley Classic
The Pirates men's basketball team had a rough go of it Thursday, falling to Cerritos 70-43 on the first day of the four-team Irvine Valley Classic. Timothy Turner had 13 points to lead VC (3-2) while Dayshone Henry netted 10 points with a team-high seven rebounds. Tomas Dangerfield scored six points with five boards in the setback.

Timothy Turner had 13 points to lead VC (3-2) while Dayshone Henry netted 10 points with a team-high seven rebounds. Thomas Dangerfield scored six points with five boards in the setback.
Ventura trailed the Falcons 32-18 at halftime.
The Pirates move to the tournament's third place game on Friday Nov. 15. They will take on College of the Canyons, who lost to Irvine Valley 68-49.
