Cagers Dropped by Canyons
After taking a quick 8-1 lead, the Pirates' men's basketball team were the victims of a 25-2 run at the hands of the College of the Canyons Cougars as they eventually fell 88-65 in the semifinals of the Gregg Anderson Memorial Tournament at Antelope Valley College Saturday night. Ivan Dooley had 22 points and Jalen Young netted 14 for the Pirates (5-6). Meanwhile, Ramon Franklin came off the bench to score 10 points in the loss.

Ventura will take on Los Angeles Pierce College in the third place game of the tournament at 3:00 pm on Sunday Dec. 8 in Lancaster.
