Slow Start Dooms Pirates
The Pirates' men's basketball team got off to a slow start Sunday and they never recovered, dropping an 87-75 decision to East Los Angeles on the final day of the John J. Kennedy Tournament at Pasadena City College. VC (4-5) fell behind 13-2 in the first five minutes of the contest and did not get much closer the rest of the way in the loss. Ivan Dooley scored 26 points to lead the way for the Pirates while Jalen Young and Anthony Morman netted 17 and 13 points, respectively. Dennis Savoy pulled in a team-high 10 rebounds.

Ventura will travel to the Gregg Anderson Memorial Tournament at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster Friday-Sunday, Dec. 6-8. The open with Barstow College at 5:00 pm in Lancaster on Friday.
