Daniles & Barrios, Lishman & Alfar 1st Team All-WSC
VC's No. 1 beach volleyball duo of Shai Daniels and Viola Barrios have been named the Western State Conference beach volleyball Pair of the Year for the 2026 season in voting by the conference coaches. Meanwhile, the Pirates No. 2 team of Sadie Lishman and Jocelyn Alfar were also named first team all-conference for their play during the season.
VC's No. 1 beach volleyball duo of Shai Daniels and Viola Barrios have been named the Western State Conference beach volleyball Pair of the Year for the 2026 season in voting by the conference coaches. Meanwhile, the Pirates No. 2 team of Sadie Lishman and Jocelyn Alfar were also named first team all-conference for their play during the season.
Daniels and Barrios, both sophomores from Buena High School, posted a 10-2 record in regular season WSC matches and won four straight contests to capture the conference pairs tournament. Overall they went 30-4 on the year, finishing as the runners-up in the Southern California Regionals and in ninth place at the 3C2A State Championships.
Lishman, a sophomore out of Santa Ynez High School, and Alfar, a sophomore from Tampa, Fla., were also 10-2 in conference matches from their No. 2 slot. They tied for fifth place in the WSC Tournament, advancing to the SoCal regionals. They had a 23-5 record on the year.
Meanwhile, VC's No. 3 pair of Addison Olson, a sophomore from Bakersfield, and Monaye Ramessar, a freshman from Westlake, earned second team All-WSC honors with a 7-3 record in WSC play.
In team play, Ventura finished 15-7 on the season, advancing to the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs for the sixth straight season. They were 8-4 in WSC play, tying for third in the conference.
