VC Posts Two More Wins at the Beach

The VC beach volleyball team traveled to Santa Monica Friday for their final road trip of the regular season, taking on Santa Barbara and Glendale in Western State Conference competition. The Pirates (14-4, 10-0) easily dispatched of the competition, sweeping both Vaquero teams 5-0. In the first match against SBCC, Raphaella Rosales and Vanessa Ihrke allowed 15 points total in their straight-set win, while allowing just sight total points in their win against Glendale.

The VC beach volleyball team traveled to Santa Monica Friday for their final road trip of the regular season, taking on Santa Barbara and Glendale in Western State Conference competition. The Pirates (14-4, 10-0) easily dispatched of the competition, sweeping both Vaquero teams 5-0. In the first match against SBCC, Raphaella Rosales and Vanessa Ihrke allowed 15 points total in their straight-set win, while allowing just sight total points in their win against Glendale.

In the opener against Santa Barbara, Rosales and Ihrke had the big win at the No,. 1 slot while Brooklyn Wallet and Faith Mackie also won big at No. 3, 21-7, 21-8. Shantalle Ruiz and Kasie Spencer swept through their No. 2 match 21-11, 21-5. VC's No. 4 team of Kambria Dowling and Payton Greiner and the No. 5 duo of Madoline Bolish and Kayla Hosch won by default as SBCC did not have pairs for those matches.

In the nightcap, the Pirates swept past Glendale. Rosales and Ihrke had the easiest match while Ruiz and Spencer prevailed 21-12, 21-5. Dowling and Hosch won at No. 4 21-9, 21-9 while Wallet and Mackie posted a 21-6, 21-13 triumph at no. 4. Bolish and Greiner won their No. 5 match by default.

Ventura closes the regular season at home on Friday April 19 against Moorpark and Victor Valley. Play is set to begin at 9:00 am at the Harbor Cove Courts at the Ventura Marina.
