Trevor McCarthy, Men's Track & Field - Week of May 12
On May 3, Ventura College freshman Trevor McCarthy suffered a leg injury during the 4x100m relay. He limped to the javelin after the race and finished the field event, qualifying for the 3C2A State Championships despite the malady. Fast forward two weeks to the state championships on Friday in San Mateo when the St. Bonaventure High School product, still recovering from his injury, placed fourth in the javelin. McCarthy recorded a best throw of 181' in his final attempt to earn All-American honors with the sixth-best mark in he Pirate record books.
