VC Athletics Hall of Fame Induction May 4
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will host its 17th Hall of Fame Induction and Student Athlete Recognition Banquet on Sunday May 4, 2025 at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel. Four distinguished honorees will be innducted as the newest Hall of Fame members and each of the Pirates' 19 intercollegiate sports will send their best and brightest to be recognized for outstanding achievement on the playing field and in the classroom.
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will host its 17th Hall of Fame Induction and Student Athlete Recognition Banquet on Sunday May 4, 2025 at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel. Four distinguished honorees will be innducted as the newest Hall of Fame members and each of the Pirates' 19 intercollegiate sports will send their best and brightest to be recognized for outstanding achievement on the playing field and in the classroom. We will also summarize our 2024-25 athletic team and individual student athlete achievements, recognize our conference Coach of the Year award winners and crown our 2024-25 Male and Female Scholar Athletes and Male and Female Athletes of the Year.
Please join us for the festivities that begin at 4:00 pm with a social hour followed at 5:00 pm with dinner and at 6:00 pm with the Hall of Fame Induction and Student Athlete Awards. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets online.

Our 2025 Hall of Fame inductees include:
Mark Cleavenger '82, Men's Water Polo and Swimming & Diving
* All-American Goalie, Southern California Conference MVP, 1981
* VC Male Athlete of the Year Award Winner, 1982
* All-American Swimmer, 50-yard freestyle and 4x100 and 4x200-yard freestyle relays, 1981 & 1982
* Transferred to UC Santa Barbara on a water polo scholarship.
Calvin Curry '93, Men's Basketball
* All-State Western State Conference North Division MVP, 1993.
* VC Single-Season Scoring Record Holder, 984 points, 29.8 PPG, 1993.
* Helped Lead VC to State Runner-Up Finish, 1993.
* Transferred to the University of Oklahoma. Played professionally overseas.
Monique Orocio '11, Women's Soccer
* 2X First Team All-Western State Conference.
* Western State Conference MVP, NSCAA All-American, 2010.
* Helped Lead VC to program's only State Final Four, 2009.
* Transferred with soccer scholarship to Kansas Wesleyan University.
John Speed '84, Men's Track & Field
* VC Men's Track & Field Record Holder, 100m.
* WSC Champions, 4x100 and 4x400m Relays, Both No. 2 in VC history.
* Transferred to San Diego State University on a track scholarship.
* Currently coaches Oxnard High School Track & Field.
