      <title>Monroe, Badaracco and Marshall Earn Individual All-American Honors</title>

      <description>VC swimming standouts Jaiden Monroe, Olivia Badaracco and Faith Marshall all earned individual 3C2A All-American accolades as published by the California Community College Swim &amp; Dive Coaches Association. Monroe was named All-American in six individual events and as part of three relays while Badaracco earned All-American honors in five individual events and with four relays. Marshall is a two-event All-American individualy and in four relays.</description>

      <description>VC's Jaiden Monroe claimed gold in the 100-yard backstroke on Friday and Olivia Badaracco bested her own school record in the 100-yard backstroke Friday as the Pirates competed in the 3C2A State Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday through Saturday at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Both the Ventura men's and women's teams placed 14th overall out of 31 scoring teams on each side.</description>

Shea led the effort placing fourth in the 1m and third in the 3m dives in the region, respectively, while claiming the WSC title in both events.</description>

Mashall earned a pair of individual golds in the 200-yard breaststroke and 50-yard freestyle events while Monroe won three golds in the 200-yard backstroke and the 100- and 50-yard freestyle races. Olivia Badaracco and Thomas Shea also won events for the Pirates. The VC men won first and the women were second as a team out of five competing schools.</description>

      <description>Ventura College student athletes excelled once again in the classroom in 2024-25 with a total of 101 Pirates achieving a 3.5 GPA or higher, earning mention on the Dean's List, in the fall 2024 term while taking in 12 or more units of study, with 46 student athletes recording a perfect 4.0 GPA. In spring 2025, 99 VC student athletes were named on the Dean's List with 44 posting perfect GPA's.</description>

Badaracco highlighted her performance with two school records in the 100- and 200-yard  backstroke races.</description>

      <description>VC's Thomas Shea had an outstanding two day in Long Beach, qualifying for the 3C2A State Championships in both the 1m and 3m diving events at the Southern California Diving Championships. The freshman finished seventh overall in the 3m competition and 10th in the 1m event to make state. He also came in third and fourth, respectively, in the concurrent Western State Conference Championships. Meanwhile, Brayden Black also qualified for state with an eighth-place finish in the 1m diving event, good for third in the WSC.</description>

      <description>The Ventura College Athletic Department is proud to announce the transfer of 71 student athletes to four-year schools following their time with the Pirates. 48 of those transfers plan to continue their sport with 34 earning athletic scholarships. The VC class of 2024 will transfer to 48 different schools in 19 different states across the country. Additionally, 17 of the Pirate alumni have earned academic scholarships at their new schools.</description>

      <description>VC sophomore Ayden Jacobus and freshman Ella Montano each turned in outstanding performances at the 3C2A State Swimming &amp; Diving Championships Thursday through Saturday at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Jacobus was named the Co-Men's Diver of the Year with a gold and a silver medal while Montano placed in three events, each in the A-Final. Freshman Wyatt Dingman also placed in both diving events for Ventura at the championships.</description>
