VC Sweeps LA Mission on the Road

The Pirate volleyball team traveled to San Fernando Friday evening, coming home with a 3-0 sweep over the Los Angeles Mission College Eagles, 25-18, 25-12, 25-20. Morgan Gallagher, Tatum Teel and Vanessa Ihrke all had five kills to lead the Pirates (9-9, 4-2) in their fourth victory in the past five outings. Kassidy Wilson handed out 11 assists and Leslie Perez recorded 16 digs in the win for VC.

Koko Kester had four kills offensively and Raphaella Rosales and Shantalle Ruiz each had three winners in the balanced attack. Gabby Boado and Julia Stalker each had six assists and Miranda Unzueta had 11 digs. Wilson and Rosales each had a pair of service aces and Victoria Whitney had three blocks at the net.

Ventura returns home on Wednesday Oct. 30 hosting Santa Barbara City College at 6:00 pm.
