The third set was considerably closer, with ties at 2-2, 4-4, 6-6, 9-9 and 10-10. Ventura opened some breathing room with five straight winners to hold a 15-10 edge. That margin remained as Ventura held a 19-14 advantage before the Bulldogs came back to tie the score at 23-23. Following a Pirate timeout, Wallet and Janessa Simental had back-to-back kills to give VC a 25-23 set victory and the match sweep.
