Brittany Oliver begins her third year coaching with the Ventura College swim teams in 2019. Brittany is a Ventura native. She started swimming at age 8 with the Buenaventura Swim Club, and competed for the Buena Bulldogs in cross country and swimming. After swimming at UCLA for one year as walk-on, she began to compete in triathlon's in 2008 and continues to compete regularly. In 2010, after graduating with a degree in Physiological Sciences from UCLA, Brittany began coaching and found herself using her knowledge of the human body to help fellow athletes. Driven to merge her passions for coaching and sports nutrition, Brittany continued her education in nutrition at CSUN, focusing her research on endurance athletes. In 2015, she became a USA Triathlon certified coach, and recently added a USA Weightlifting certification to her credentials.
Brittany is passionate about working with athletes, and is especially fond of her work with the Pirates. Fittingly, Brittany's favorite color is orange. She loves black coffee, strawberries and chocolate-peanut butter ice cream. She dislikes foggy goggles, lukewarm foods and drinks that should be hot or having water in her ears.
