Racism, Diversity and the Student AthleteVentura College alumni participated in a panel on Racism, Diversity and the Student Athlete to discuss racism and diversity and how their experiences as student-athletes can help bing change. The 10 person panel featured former student athletes from the 80's, 90's and 2000's.

Ron Jenkins- Current mentor and player development coach for Ventura College Football. He's been a State Department of Corrections Officer for over 25 years after playing football at East Los Angeles College and Fresno State University
Joey Ramirez- 1994 VC Men's Basketball Alum and current Ventura College Men's Basketball Head Coach
James Ennis- 2011 VC Men's Basketball Alum and current Orlando Magic players
Daisy Cardona- 2013 VC Women's Soccer Alum, 2012 JC/CC Women's Soccer National Player of Year and former University of Oklahoma soccer student athlete
Justin Friedman-2017 VC Baseball Alum and former Chicago White Sox minor leaguer
Kierra Joyner- 2017 VC Women's Indoor and Beach Volleyball Alum and a student at Historically Black University, Langston State
Jessie Lemonier- 2017 VC Football Alum, Liberty University football player and current San Diego Charger

5 Questions With Mason TeronMason is a redshirt sophomore on our Men's Golf Team. As a freshmen in 2019 he was an All WSC selection and narrowly missed qualifying for the State Tournament. This past season, he was leading the charge for the Pirates until COVID 19 ended their season.
5 Questions with Raphaella Rosales and Vanessa IhrkeRaphaella and Vanessa are the #1 duo on the VC Beach Volleyball team, a 2019 State Tournament participant (seeded #6) in Beach Volleyball, finished in 3rd in the WSC in 2019, and this season were ranked in the top 3 in So Cal. Both also played on the indoor team and as freshmen in 2018 helped the Pirates win the WSC North and make a run to the So Cal Regional Finals
5 Questions With Omar GastelumOmar Gastelum is a former Ventura College baseball student-athlete who will be attending UC Santa Barbara on a baseball scholarship next fall. He only spent 1 year at Ventura College before earning the scholarship.
5 Questions With Jarell KnightJarell Knight is a Ventura College Football student-athlete who just recently signed with Bethune-Cookman University. This past year he helped VC win a share of the Northern Conference title, led the conference in tackles for loss, was a 2nd Team All Conference player and was named VC Lineman of the Year.
5 Questions with Talia TaufaasauTalia is a 2X All WSC North 1st team player, 2X CCCWBCA All State selection and recently signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her athletic and academic career at Cal State Northridge.
