VC Athletics 11th in State in 2017-18 NATYCAA Standings

Ventura College Athletics  finished in 11th place state-wide in the California Community College Athletic Association standings for the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators all-sports competition. VC finished with 98.5 points during the 2017-18 academic year. This is the Pirates' ninth finish in 11th place or better in the 15-year history of the NATYCAA Cup.

A college is awarded points based on its team's final positions in post-conference competition. Each college's top-five men's and top-five women's team results count toward the school's overall point total. Complete standings, scoring criteria, and history of the NATYCAA Cup is available on the CCCAA website, http://cccaasports.org/NATYCAA/index.

Mt. San Antonio College won this year's all-sports competition with 175 points, followed by Sierra College (153.5), San Joaquin Delta College (149.5) and Orange Coast College (148). Fresno City College (144), Cerritos College (143.5), Riverside City College (142.5), American River College (142.5), Santa Rosa College (101.5) and Santa Barbara City College (100.5) rounded out the top 10. VC finished ahead of Irvine Valley, Saddleback, El Camino and Palomar in the top-15.

The CCCAA is also in competition against two-year colleges from throughout the country for overall and state association titles. Ventura finished 13th in the state association division.
